1.Programming- Most recent devices can be configured via GPRS Commands hence it is cheaper to program via GPRS instead of SMS.Also where possible Cable Configurations can be done for devices such as Teltonika
2.Activating Wi-fi GPS Terminals – This would be applicable if the organization has a fleet that parks at a central point with a wifi connection .The day’s data will then be transmitted by wifi.(Applicable only to clients that are not interested in real time tracking or tracking for security reasons)
3.Deactivating non essential features – Incase your Client is not interested in advanced fleet management features such as;Harsh behaviour/Fuel Monitoring & other alerts,you might consider deactivating this to avoid spending unnecessary data
4.Using an M2M Portal – Usage based M2M portals such as www.flickswitch.co.za can be a great saviour especially if you have vehicles that roam as they automatically shift from data to airtime usage .
5.Twin Sim Devices – Incase you have clients that constantly roam between two countries you should be considering using twinsim devices,this way you will only be using the local sim cards hence not incurring any additional charges.An example is Galileo Sky Terminal 7.0 and Coban TK103B.
